Transportation from / to Cancun International Airport

The Cancun International Airport is located 7.5 miles (12km) from downtown Cancun, and 12.5 miles (20 km) southwest from the heart of the hotel zone. The Fiesta Americana (Official Congress Hotel) is located at the heart of the hotel zone, so the other official hotels.

At the airport there are booths where people can be informed about the fares acording to the destination hotel. The fares are standard, and depend on the distance between the airport and the hotel. Participants may choose their preferred transportation means from the following alternatives:

• Private Taxis, with rates between $15 and $60 per vehicle.
• Shared Vans, with rates between $10 and $25.
• Private Vans, with rates around $55.

Transportation in Cancun

Local Transportation: you can rent a car, use taxis or ride the buses in Cancun. You'll find most of the major car rental companies here and can rent a car through their agencies, at the airport or in some hotels.

Taxis: local taxis are clean and can be taken right from your hotel lobby. They don't use meters because there are set fares posted at all hotels. Fares normally vary from US $6 to US $20 within the Hotel Zone. Taxi services are available 24-hours a day.

Buses: buses also run 24-hours a day. The city's public transport system is very efficient, and buses pass by very frequently in both the Hotel Zone and the city. Bus fares will cost you about $1.00 per trip. There are bus services also available towards nearby cities.
