Awarded with the "Medal to the University Merit" (UNAM). Founder of the Mexican Council for Certification of Family Doctors in Mexico, and the Mexican Colleague of Family Medicine.

Family Medicine Specialist, full time Associated Teacher and Chair of the Family Medicine Department, Posgraduated Division, School of Medicine, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He is author and coauthor of several scientific books and more than 50 scientific articles. Dr. Gómez-Clavelina was founder of the Academy of Family Medicine Professors of Mexico (AMPMF) and currently is the Chair of the International Federation of Primary Care Research Networks (IFPCRN). He is direct member of the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) and member of the Research Group of this international organization. He was founder editor of “Archivos en Medicina Familiar” and recently assumed the editor position of “Atención Familiar”. He is member of the scientific board of four international journals.
