About Cancun
Cancun (pronounced as [kan'kun]) is a coastal city in Mexico's easternmost state, Quintana Roo, on the Yucatan Peninsula best known as the Mexican Caribbean or at the northern section as the Mayan Riviera. In 1970 the Mexican Government had chosen this place for an ambitious and totally planned tourist development which has become one of the most successful in the history of tourism in Mexico.
